Two new variations of Apple AirPods will enter production in the fourth quarter of 2019 or the first quarter of 2020, according to a study note from TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
1 version will have a similar layout and cost to the present version of AirPods, that costs between $159 and $199. Another version will possess an “all-new form factor design in a higher cost.”
If Apple releases a more costly and redesigned pair of AirPods, it might give a substantial average sales price increase to Apple’s most successful new product in the past years. Apple doesn’t release revenue data because of its headphones, but analyst Neil Cybart formerly estimated that 40 million pairs may be marketed this season . (Apple marketed 217 million iPhones in its own financials 2018.)
Kuo’s Quote for AirPods earnings is much higher: 52 million sent in 2019 and between 75 and 85 million sent in 2020.
Apple introduced a slightly updated version of AirPods before this season using a marginally faster chip and wireless charging service.
It Sounds like the coming redesigns will be substantial. Kuo writes that Apple will utilize a new sort of internal layout called “SiP,” or system-in-package. His study is well-respected and aimed at investors in the companies which provide Apple with components and meeting solutions, and he considers Apple could revamp its own AirPods supply chain these new versions.
When Apple’s brand new AirPods are found, they might face stiff competition. Microsoft and Amazon are supposed to be functioning on wireless earbuds to shoot Apple on.
